Our Leadership
Dominik J. Schmidt

Dr. Dominik Schmidt serves as CEO of Translarity, bringing decades of experience in technology leadership, startup growth, and product innovation. He is also affiliated with QVT Financial, where he has led technology investments from the firm’s Palo Alto office.
Dr. Schmidt previously held senior leadership roles at Intel Corporation, including Chief Technology Officer of Intel’s Foundry business and Senior Director of Wireless Engineering, where he managed global engineering teams and drove the development of next-generation silicon technologies.
A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Schmidt co-founded Airify Communications, a wireless semiconductor startup acquired by Intel, where he served as CEO. He also co-founded Pixel Devices International, a CMOS imaging company acquired by Agilent.
His early career included engineering and research roles at Altera Corporation, the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and Argonne National Laboratory. He has authored over 70 technical papers, holds more than 90 patents, and has taught at U.C. Berkeley, Tsinghua University, and the International Technological University.
Dr. Schmidt earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science from U.C. Berkeley, and four advanced degrees from Stanford University, including a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
At Translarity, Dr. Schmidt leads the company’s vision in delivering high-performance probe card solutions that meet the evolving demands of advanced semiconductor testing.
Tracy Fu

Tracy Fu is a co-founder and Managing Member of QVT Financial. Tracy is a member of QVT’s Investment Committee and also oversees QVT’s Asian offices and convertible bond portfolio. Prior to QVT, Tracy was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank. Tracy has a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BS in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology.
Chris Brown

Chris first joined Translarity as a consultant in 2018, bringing with him over 20 years of experience as a seasoned management consultant. His professional background spans across finance, human resources, insurance, and risk management, enabling him to address numerous complex organizational challenges. Over the course of his consulting career, Chris worked with hundreds of companies across nearly every U.S. state and internationally.
For the past decade, Chris has increasingly specialized in the semiconductor industry, having worked with multiple back-end semiconductor suppliers. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida, graduating summa cum laude. His academic achievements include receiving a highly selective DHS fellowship and contributing to scientific journals and conferences, with a focus on security and human behavior.
