Dr. Dominik Schmidt serves as CEO of Translarity, bringing decades of experience in technology leadership, startup growth, and product innovation. He is also affiliated with QVT Financial, where he has led technology investments from the firm’s Palo Alto office.
Dr. Schmidt previously held senior leadership roles at Intel Corporation, including Chief Technology Officer of Intel’s Foundry business and Senior Director of Wireless Engineering, where he managed global engineering teams and drove the development of next-generation silicon technologies.
A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Schmidt co-founded Airify Communications, a wireless semiconductor startup acquired by Intel, where he served as CEO. He also co-founded Pixel Devices International, a CMOS imaging company acquired by Agilent.
His early career included engineering and research roles at Altera Corporation, the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and Argonne National Laboratory. He has authored over 70 technical papers, holds more than 90 patents, and has taught at U.C. Berkeley, Tsinghua University, and the International Technological University.
Dr. Schmidt earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science from U.C. Berkeley, and four advanced degrees from Stanford University, including a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
At Translarity, Dr. Schmidt leads the company’s vision in delivering high-performance probe card solutions that meet the evolving demands of advanced semiconductor testing.
